If don’t have these you wont know how to start an internet business and without a shadow of a doubt, your business will fail. So needless to say that these three things are very important.
Because they’re this important, I’ve put together this quick video explaining them and then after the video, I’ll be going into more detail about them. So click the play button and let’s get into these three things.
Let’s quickly recap what we just talked about in the video. The three things that’s needed when starting an internet business is a product, a sales site, and marketing. Now let’s talk about these three things some more.
1) A Product
Like I talked about in the video you need to have some sort of a product or service that you can sell on the internet. Without something to exchange for cash, people wont be sending you any money. But it needs to be a product that gives value to buyer. This product or service needs to make an impact on their lives. If it doesn’t, then it’s not going to sell very well or you’re going to have some very unhappy customers.
As you start to think about what kind of a product/service you’re going to be offering online then really put some time and energy into how it’s going to benefit the buyer. What difference will it make for them and in their life. Once you know this, take that idea and go one step further.
Ask yourself “What else could I do to make this product or service even better’ and really think about this because the more value that you put into your product, the better it will do on the internet. This bring us to the second point.
2) A Sales Site
Now this might seem pretty obvious when starting an internet business but for some reason people don’t do a good job of this. They feel that they can put up just any old site and that people will just start to buy from them. This is not the case.
What you need to do is create a site that really funnels people through a process or a story and leads them to wanting to buy what you are offering. The whole point of this site, or page on a site, is to have someone land on the page and either buy what you’re offering or to leave. That’s it.
It’s not there to dance around the fact that you have a product/service to sell or you anything like that. You want your prospect to say YES or NO (preferably for them to say Yes). So think of it like a funnel. Now let’s get into the third point.
3) Marketing
When you think to yourself about about how to start an internet business, marketing needs to come up. But when starting an internet business, you need to have a plan of action for your marketing. Like I said in the video don’t do ‘shot gun’ marketing where you’re doing anything and everything.
Focus on a specific type of marketing and master it. Whether it’s PPC, SEO, Banner Ad’s, Article Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Video Marketing, Blogging, whichever, just pick one and really get good with it. The more that you master a marketing type, the more results you’re going to see from it.
Then once you’ve mastered that type of marketing then move on to a different one.
“But what kind of marketing should I start with?“
That will really depend upon your budget and the amount of time that you have to do the marketing. In my opinion, PPC or Banner ad’s will give you the best results quickly but it can be costly to learn and it takes capital to get going with it. Where as Social Media doesn’t take that much capital to get doing with but it does require a lot more time on your part to get good results with.
So way out what you want to achieve and what you have in the way of resources. Then pick your marketing method and go master it.
Now when all things are said and done, these are the three things that you must have and that you must when starting an internet business. If you miss any of these three things then your business is seriously going to go nowhere.
